The Keweenaw Community Foundation administers a number of community funds. Please read below for general information about each fund. SPOTLIGHT - Portage Lake Gappy Golf League Scholarship Fund This fund was established by Jack Eberhard of Book Concern Printers to award an annual college scholarship to a Houghton or Hancock High School graduate who has been involved in golf while in high school for at least two years. | Agnes & Elmo Negro Fund for the Calumet Figure Skating Club | The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide financial support to the Calumet Figure |

| Anthony and Patricia Stark Scholarship Fund | The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Suzuki student and/or other string instrument programs. |
|
| A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide unrestricted support in perpetuity for the benefit of the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum in fulfilling its mission to preserve, exhibit and interpret minerals and mining heritage, in order to educate people about the aesthetics and relevance of minerals to society. |

| Bernard F. Gaffney Memorial Scholarship | The purpose of the Fund is to help Houghton High School students or graduates, who demonstrate good character, need and determination to achieve specific educational or training goals. Assistance may be offered in the form of scholarships, grants or interest-free loans. | |
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. |

| Calumet Theater Company | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the operation of the Calumet Theater and the educational and cultural programs and activities of the Agency. |

| Copper Country Autism Awareness | To create awareness to the plight of those with Autism as well are their families. The primary focus of the organization is to provide support to entire families affected by a family member with autism. |

| Carnegie Museum Fund | The purpose of the Fund shall be for the support, maintainence, and promotion of The Carnegie Museum. |
|
| Copper Country Catholic Churches | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide financial assistance primarily to local parishes and missions of the Roman Catholic Church in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties, but may include adjoining counties that might be served by the Foundation in the future. Such grants will provide assistance for capital improvements, religious education (including seminaries) or other special charitable projects that may be proposed by local Catholic churches. |

| CLK Youth Hockey Fund | The Purpose of this fund shall be to provide assistance to members and/or organizations within Calumet, Laurium, and Keweenaw communities in order to support youth hockey. |
|
| Copper Country Community Arts Council | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the mission of the Agency in bringing the arts and people together in the Copper Country. |
|
| Copper Country Habitat for Humanity | The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to support the mission of the Agency in providing safe, decent, affordable, energy efficient housing to low income people of Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga Counties. |
|
| Copper Country Humane Society | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide financial support for the operations and program of the Copper Country Humane Society, which serves Baraga, Houghton and Keweenaw Counties and the Keweenaw Bay Tribal Areas. |
|
| Copper Country Ski Tigers | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Copper Country Ski Tigers, Inc., to promote the sport of cross-country skiing among youth of the Keweenaw, to provide the benefits of fellowship, sportsmanship, recreation and healthy lifestyles, and to work in cooperation with other Nordic ski organizations to provide opportunities for yourth participation in competitive Nordic ski racing. |

| Copper Country Suzuki Association | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support scholarships, equipment replacements, program enhancement, and to make the Copper Country Suzuki Association a self sustaining organization. |
|
| Copper Country Youth Hockey | The purpose of the Fund shall be to promote and support youth ice-hockey programs throughout the Copper Country Junior Hockey Association territory and to expand opportunities for youngsters to further develop the skills necessary to participate in ice hockey. |
|
| Copper Harbor Improvement Association | The primary purpose of this fund shall be to support and uphold to enhance and preserve the business climate and residential charm of the Copper Harbor by welcoming new ideas and fresh innovative strategies to promote our village as a great place to visit, live, and work. |
|
| Copper Harbor Trails Club | The purpose of their fund is to provide long term support and along with a capital development fund for the acquisition of property, promotion, development and maintenance of public human-powered trails in Keweenaw County. | |
| Dial Help | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to Dial HELP, Inc. of Houghton, Michigan to carry out its role and mission as defined by its governing documents. |

| Portage Lake District Library | The purpose of the Fund shall be to promote and sustain the development of District Public Library programs, projects and activities in the region encompassed by KCF. |
|
| Ed Gray/Miskwabik | "With honor and respect to all people and our ancestors who have walked before us, we set the the main purpose of the fund as follows: To promote ART (inclusive of but not limited to, visual arts, performing arts and literature) HISTORY AND CULTURAL sustaining programs, projects and activities related to art instruction and its application." |

| Environmental | The purpose of the Fund shall be to promote and sustain programs, projects and activities related to a broad range of environmental concerns that include, but are not limited to: health, community development/civic planning, economic development, education, public policy and planning, wildlife and recreation. |
|
| Faith Lutheran Educational Scholarship | The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial assistance for students who desire to further their seminary or pre-seminary studies at the post-secondary and graduate level. Selection shall be based on academic performance and demonstrated leadership potential as well as financial need. |
|
| Faith Lutheran Educational Resource | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Agency for the Lutheran magazine, devotional booklets, Bibles, or similar educational resources that advance the Word of God and enhance the broader Church. |
|
| Richard and June Ross Genealogy Fund | The purpose of the Fund shall be to promote, encourage and sustain the research, documentation and preservation of genealogy and history of the Keweenaw Area of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. |
|
| Good Will Farm Association/Big Brothers Big Sisters | The Fund supports our homes and school for troubled youth, and helps provide adult mentors for at-risk children. |
|
| Gratiot Lake Conservancy | The purpose of this Donor Advised Fund shall be to support land conservation, environmental education, and ecological research in Keweenaw County, Michigan. |
|
| Ron and Lou Ellyn Helman Scholarship | The purpose of the Fund shall be to encourage skilled, motivated students to enter a post-secondary school offering fields of study such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, secretary, automotive services, etc. and to further their education in the field of their choice in order to become a skilled worker who is self-sufficient, reliable, and a contributing member of society. |

| Martha & Floyd Memorial Heart & Hands Society | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Martha & Floyd Heart & Hands Society, Inc. of Hancock, Michigan to carry out its role and mission as defined by its governing documents. |
|

| Houghton County Historical Preservation | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support historical preservation and education projects or activities related to Houghton County of Michigan. |

| Houghton Rotary Scholarship | The purpose of the Fund shall be to award scholarships to graduates of Houghton High School who desire to pursue an educational goal at the college or other post-secondary education level. |
|
| Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the mission of the Isle Royale Natural History Association in promoting the public's understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of Isle Royale National Park and Keweenaw National Historical Park. |
|
| Kellogg Youth | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support programs, projects and activities serving youth of the area served by KCF. |
|
| Keweenaw County Historical Preservation | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support historical preservation and education projects or activities related to Keweenaw County of Michigan. |
|
| Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing | The purpose of the fund shall be to promote, develop and sustain quality cross-country skiing in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. |
|
| Keweenaw Family Resource Center | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Keweenaw Family Resource Center, Inc. of Houghton, Michigan to carry out its role and mission as defined by its governing documents. |
|
| Keweenaw Friends Meeting | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide perpetual funding for the operations, ministry and programs of the Keweenaw Friends Meeting. |
|
| Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne's | The purpose of the Fund shall be to promote and sustain the development and operation of the Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne's to foster heritage preservation and serve as a heritage interpretive center in the Calumet, Michigan area. |
|
| Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance to carry out its role and mission as defined by its governing documents. |
|
| Keweenaw Land Trust | The purpose of the Fund shall be to sustain the Keweenaw Land Trust (KLT) in its mission as a community partner protecting land, water and quality of life through conservation, stewardship and education. KLT holds conservation easements to permanently protect watersheds, natural areas, traditional farms, forest and family lands, and also establishes public nature preserves through land purchase or donation. KLT fosters connections to the natural wonders of the Western Upper Peninsula for generations to come through outdoor activities and learning experiences. |

| Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship | The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to carry out its role and mission as defined by its governing documents. |
|
| Kiwanis "Nailbenders" | The purpose of the Fund shall be to promote and sustain the charitable interests of the Kiwanis Clubs of Houghton and Keweenaw counties, with primary support for "the Nailbenders" ramp-building project. Spendable income not used for Nailbenders may be directed in support of other charitable projects and purposes of the Kiwanis Clubs. |

| Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative | The purpose of the Fund shall be to bring together schools and community partners to prepare K-12 students to become knowledgeable citizens, concerned about the Lake Superior, and actively engaged in stewardship activities in their community. |
|
Life Outreach Center |
The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide support to the Life Outreach Center to carry out its role and mission as defined by its governing documents. |
|
| Little Brothers--Friends of the Elderly | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the general mission of the Agency in providing support services to relieve isolation and loneliness among the elderly in rural areas of the Keweenaw. |
|
| The Michigan Nature Association | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the mission of the Agency, which includes support to carry on a program of natural history study and conservation education, and to acquire, maintain and protect nature sanctuaries and plants preserves in the State of Michigan and primarily in Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga counties. |
|
| Mont Ripley Ski Patrol Fund | The purpose of this fund shall be to provide operating and capital funds for the Month Ripley Chapter of National Ski Patrol. |
|
| Omega House | The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide perpetual funding for the operations and programs of the Omega House organization chartered to provide a residential, home-like environment where terminally ill Copper County residents may live fully during their final days, free from pain and social isolation. |
|
| Portage Community Health | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support collaborative community-based health care services and programs that positively impact the health status of the community served by Portage Health. The health services and programs to be supported should seek to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of individuals or families and promote the well-being of all people of the community. |
|
The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the mission of Portage Health, which is to positively impact the health of the community through a collaborative approach to health care delivery that effectively and efficiently meets the needs of individuals, families and the community, regardless of physical, mental or financial status. |

This fund was established by Jack Eberhard of Book Concern Printers to award an annual college scholarship to a Houghton or Hancock High School graduate who has been involved in golf while in high school for at least two years. |

Portage Lake Little League |
The purpose of this fund is to promote and support youth programs through Portage Lake Little League and to expand opportunities for players to further develop the skills necessary for participating in baseball and softball. |
|
| Portage Lake United Church | The purpose of the Fund shall be to expand and enrich the mission and ministry of the congregation and to provide assistance for capital improvements on church owned facilities. |
|
| Portage Lake Youth | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support recreational programs and activities that are designed to serve youth of the Portage Lake area. |
|
| Richard and Ann Tieder Memorial Fund | The purpose of this fund is to honor Richard and Ann Tieder’s lifelong commitment to community-based human services through the support of 3 local charitable organizations. |
|
| Ruth L. Sablich Charitable Fund | The purpose of this Fund is to provide for distributions to the following desgnated charitable organizations, in equal portions: Calumet Theatre Company, Copper Country Community Arts Center, Copper Country Habitat for Humanity, District Public Library, Keweenaw County Historical Preservation, Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, Michigan Nature Association and Omega House. |

| St. Vincent DePaul Friends-in-Need Fund | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the Friends-in-Need in the Community Program of the Resurrection Conference of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Marquette, Michigan, a code section 501(c)(3) public charity described in section 170 (b)(1)(A)(iv) of the Code (the "Agency"). |

| Unrestricted | The unrestricted fund allows KCF to respond to the community's most pressing needs, today and tomorrow. |
|
| U.P. Wildlife Habitat Fund | The purpose of the Fund shall be to support the Upper Peninsula programs of Woodcock Limited, or a successor organization established to provide public or private landowners with educational resources related to forest management practices designed to enhance wildlife habitat. | |
