Grants Currently Available

NOTICE OF GRANT:

The Keweenaw Community Foundation Youth Endowment Fund is again offering another granting cycle during the Spring of 2012.  The grant recipients and their projects will be selected according to the guidelines established by the Keweenaw Community Foundation and Youth Advisory Committee.  Grant application requirements are included in the grant application package. (Grant applications can be downloaded below):

Please read the information below to know the specific purpose and focus of this funding:

  • Total amount available to grant:  $8,778. Applicants may request up to $3,000 per request.
  • Grant must directly benefit Houghton and Keweenaw County Youth in Grades 6-12.
  • Grant applications should explain how the proposed project will address the needs of youth identified by the 2011 Youth Needs Survey. See survey summary posted on KCF-YAC webpage: http://www.k-c-f.org/yac.html Applicants are encouraged to involve youth in project development.
  • Grants will be made to organizations or programs previously demonstrating successful outcomes or to new, innovative organizations or programs with clear potential for positive outcomes. 
  • Proposed projects should take place between October 15, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
  • Grant application packages are available via mail, e-mail: mail@k-c-f.org, Tel: 906-482-9673, FAX: 906-482-9679, or stop by the Keweenaw Community Foundation office at 236 Quincy Street, Hancock, MI  49930.
  • Grant Application Packages are due in the Keweenaw Community Foundation office by  2 pm, Friday, September 14, 2012.  
  • Successful grant applicants will be notified by October 1, 2012.
