NOTICE OF GRANT: KCF Environmental Endowment Fund
The Keweenaw Community Foundation is currently soliciting applications for grants under the Environmental Endowment Fund (EEF). The purpose of the EEF is to promote and sustain programs, projects and activities related to a broad range of current environmental topics that include, but are not limited to: public health, community development, environmental stewardship, education, public policy, planning, water, wildlife and recreation. Proposals requesting funds under this solicitation must directly address the purpose of the fund, meet the qualifications listed under Eligibility Information and address the criteria listed in the Narrative instructions.
The total amount available to grant is: $1350. Applicants may request up to the full amount, however, KCF hopes to make 2-4 awards of $300-$700 each.
Due Dates for Applications
To be considered, grant applications must be submitted to the Keweenaw Community Foundation office at 236 Quincy Street, Hancock, MI 49930, or by mail, email, or fax, no later than 2 pm, Friday, February 15, 2013. **If submitting hard copies by hand or mail, please submit an original and 5 copies.**

NOTICE OF GRANT: KCF Youth Advisory Council
The Keweenaw Community Foundation would like to announce that our Youth Endowment fund has a grant available for $12,891.
Because of your interest in the welfare of our local youth, you are receiving a direct notice of our planned disbursement of grant funds from the Keweenaw Community Foundation Youth Endowment Fund in March 2013. The grant recipients and their projects will be selected according to the guidelines established by the Keweenaw Community Foundation and Youth Advisory Committee. Grant application requirements are included in the grant application package.
Please read the information below to know the specific purpose and focus of this funding:
- Total amount available to grant: 12,891. Applicants may request up to $3,000 per request.
- Grant must directly benefit Houghton and Keweenaw County Youth in Grades 6-12.
- Grant applications should explain how the proposed project will address the needs of youth identified by the 2011 Youth Needs Survey. See survey summary posted on KCF-YAC webpage: http://www.k-c-f.org/yac.html
- Grants will be made to organizations or programs previously demonstrating successful outcomes or to new, innovative organizations or programs with clear potential for positive outcomes.
- Proposed projects should take place between March 15, 2013 and December 31, 2013
